20. Winds of Plague - Classic Struggle
Jawsome intro.
19. Limewax - Everything
DAT BASS, it will make you shit your pants and want to obliterate things.
18. Muse - Muscle Museum
Okay, so what if it sounds a bit like a depressing Mexican song? It's funny because I imagine stuff while listening to music, like making my own music video or scenes. Listening to this song, I always imagined it was about some guy who's life was hollow, repetitive, miserable, and without direction. I watched the official music video and it was about people who live extremely ordinary, repetitive, and hollow lives in a copy pasta suburbia. Good job Muse, we hive minded.
17. Suicide Silence - No Time To Bleed
Heavy and has a great pacing.
16. iwrestledabearonce - The Cat's Pajamas
I love something about this song, but I can't quite pinpoint it. IWABO caught my attention when I found out the singer was female. Gutterals? Great cleans? Great looking? Hawt.
15. Knights of the Abyss - The Penalty of the Tyrant
The guitar riff during the chorus is superb.
14. Scar Symmetry - Holographic Universe
DEM SWEEPS. This song is just 8 minutes of fuckwin.
13. Dredg - Quotes
Love the instrumental development in this song.
12. Sound Horizon - 冥王
It's like listening to an epic movie.
11. Born of Osiris - Now Arise
Excellent guitar riffs, heavy and powerful. That riff at 1:42... FUCKING AWESOME.
10. Yoko Kanno - Yin no Piano
Love this piano arrangement, it makes me wish I could still play the piano... After getting surgery for carpal tunnel you damn well bet the first thing I do is learn this beautiful song. ;_;
9. Megurine Luka - For A Dead Girl+
This is what got me into Vocaloid, namely stuff from Yuyoyuppe. Just love it.
8. Veil of Maya - All Eyes Look Ahead
Perfect level of technical, brutal, and deathcore. This song gets me so pumped up.
7. Logistics - No Words
Great drum and bass song with a nice touch of vocal trance. Soothing and astral, every time I listen to it I just want to go drive somewhere at night for a long time with no destination in mind. Youtube kills the ultra bassy parts :(
6. Jeff Loomis - Shouting Fire At A Funeral
Heavy shredding, Jeff Loomis is a fucking demon. HEAVY FUCKING PALM MUTES AGH.
5. Megurine Luka - Falling Snow
I absolutely love the piano in this song, it's meshed so damn well with the guitar. Very lovely, the karaoke version is even better.
4. Sigh - In Devil's Arms | Introitus/Kyrie
Sure, it's two songs, but I couldn't decide which is better so I'm counting it as one spot. In Devil's Arms has some motherfucking crazy good harmonizing, always makes me go :o without fail. Introitus/Kyrie has a really great chorus, that brass (DAT BRASS) section really really makes it much better. I may have only found out about this band 2 weeks ago tops, but I have really fallen in love with their work.
3. OceanLab - Lonely Girl
I love OceanLab. When one of my VCC bros and I started getting into drum n bass, he recommended this group to me because he knew about my fondness for vocal trance. OceanLab is great music for listening to at night. Go out for a drive/walk late at night and you will understand how vibrant and serene to your soul their music can be. I rarely ever listen to lyrics or get moved by them. But this song is special. The lyrics just jump at me, maybe because I'm the romantic type, just maybe. I was actually surprised myself because to me most of the time I just treat vocals as another instrument, and the lyrics are just whatever. Thank you OceanLab for making this great song.
2. MintJam - Forbidden Flowers
Powerful and beautiful. Favorite MintJam song evar.
1. Yuki Kajiura - M01 (Kara no Kyoukai 7)
This song is perfect. I don't have any words to describe it. All the musical devices I love are there. This is a song that I will never forget and will love forever.
